General Description:
Working with the Event Coordinator and transportation volunteers, ensure that proper signage, equipment, supplies and volunteer support are at each rest stop.
Specific Duties:
- Attend committee meetings as required.
- Understand and be able to communicate to others about MS.
- Help coordinate the required number of volunteers for the day of the event.
- Train your volunteers.
- Ensure that your volunteers have checked in at the Volunteer Booth to fill out the Volunteer Information Form, and receive their Volunteer Gift.
- Be familiar with the route and rest stop locations.
- Determine signs/supplies required and relay this information to the Event Coordinator.
- Work with the Event Coordinator on the day before the event to divide up and label supplies for each Rest Stop.
- Appoint Rest Stop Captains for each Rest Stop location. Make sure each captain is familiar with the supplies, equipment, tear down procedures and emergency procedures.
- On the day of the event travel between the Rest Stops to supervise and ensure proper amount of supplies are delivered and to check on volunteers and their needs (i.e. safety, warm enough).
- Help recruit participants/teams.
- Report any problems or concerns to the Event Coordinator.
Time Commitment:
3-4 meetings before the event (1-2 hours each) and one post-event wrap-up/evaluation meeting. Meeting times, dates, and location are at the discretion of the committee.
