MS Special Events Volunteer Job Description
TeamMS Supervisor

Our Mission

To be a leader in finding a cure for multiple sclerosis and
enabling people affected by MS to enhance their quality of life.


General Description:

Targets and recruits companies, groups and organizations to participate in the TeamMS program.

Specific Duties:

  1. Attend committee meetings as required.
  2. Understand and be able to communicate to others about MS.
  3. Work with Event Coordinator to increase number of teams at your site.
  4. Brainstorm with your committee to generate a list of TeamMS prospects - local businesses that should be approached for TeamMS. (Ideally businesses with a large number of employees.)
  5. Contact selected businesses and offer to make a TeamMS presentation or send a TeamMS Info Kit to their Human Resources Department or Community Relations person.
  6. Follow-up with contact at each business to encourage TeamMS participation.
  7. Update Event Coordinator on a regular basis.
  8. Report any problems or concerns to the MS Special Events Coordinator, Nanaimo.

Time Commitment:

3-4 meetings before the event (1-2 hours each) and one post-event wrap-up/evaluation meeting. Meeting times, dates, and location are at the discretion of the committee.
